Navajo Sandpainting/Artwork

Navajo sandpaintings have been used for religious and healing ceremonies for hundreds of years. The traditional designs have specific meanings and symbols that represent various things in our world: like water, corn, and animals. In recent years, there have been artisans who have taken sandpainting to a more contemporary art form. Navajo artisan Bilson Kee is one who has done that. This is an original painting of his, but he has also done numerous modern sandpaintings over the years. His work has become difficult to find, but when we do find it, they go fast!
