In Navajo culture, sand painting is a sacred practice believed to restore balance and harmony in the Universe following a crisis, often related to illness. There is a Certificate of Authenticity on the back, that includes the artist's photo & name as well as information on the importance of sand painting and others, in the Navajo religion.
