This Oaxacan Jerboa Wood Carving is hand-carved from copal wood and painted with acrylics. The tiny figure is built around its enormous upright ears, painted with nested bands of blue that make them nearly as prominent as the rest of the body. Fine black strokes suggest fur along the lavender body, while spotted haunches, orange front legs, and a long curling black tail give the little jerboa plenty to look at despite its miniature size.
