This Navajo-made kachina doll by M. C. depicts a Buffalo Warrior figure holding a bow, arrow, and round shield, giving the carving a strong defensive stance. The mostly black body and garments create a dramatic silhouette, while the bright white fur around the head and chest sharply breaks up the darker palette. The painted shield adds a small but noticeable focal point, bringing geometric detail to the front of the piece. Buffalo Warrior kachinas are often associated with strength, endurance, and protection.
