This Oaxacan Jaguar Wood Carving by Abundio Muñoz is hand-carved from copal wood and painted with acrylics. The jaguar has a tall, alert posture with an arched tail curling toward its back and a warm orange body divided into bands of fine black linework, spirals, and geometric patterns. Blue checkered front legs and a black-and-white patterned hind leg break up the orange body, while the spotted face, wide eyes, and open mouth give the jaguar a lively expression.
